Before becoming a full-time endurance coach and manager at Training Bible Coaching, Tom Rodgers developed NASA experiments on astronaut physiology for the Human Research Facility aboard International Space Station. He has coached triathletes, road cyclists, ultracyclists and runners ranging from Hawaii to Slovakia. His athletes have won their division at the Ironman World Championship, qualified for the US Olympic Marathon running trials, raced at ITU Worlds, and gone on to race as professionals. Yet he still enjoys training beginners, masters and the average athlete who participates for the pure joy of achievement. He was chosen for the Ultrafit Coaching Association.

Rodgers is the author of the best-selling book from Velo Press, The Perfect Distance: Triathletes Guide to Long Course Training and appears regularly in Inside Triathlon, Runner Triathlete News, and Ultracycling. He continues to compete as a top masters competitor in triathlon and ultracycling events, winning his age group in full Ironman races and the Ultraman Hawaii World Championship (finishing third overall), and finishing Ironman Hawaii in 9:56 at age 46. He’s been the top-ranked masters triathlete in the USA Triathlon South-Midwest Region, as well as a USA Triathlon Age-Group All-American and on Inside Triathlon’s top-ten list for triathlon. In ultracycling, he has placed second at the UMCA national championships, rode solo in Race Across America (RAAM), and helped athletes prepare for RAAM qualifiers, Paris-Brest-Paris, and other ultraevents.

Rodgers uses his expertise in biomedical engineering and software to help his athletes get the most out of the latest endurance technology, including power meters, heart-rate monitoring, GPS, foot-pods, metabolic analyzers, wind-tunnel testing, digital running analysis and underwater swim video.
