Andy Wellman

TRIATHLETE
Like a lot of us Andy began running to “get back into shape.” He completed his first marathon in 1998. He took up road cycling (his true love!!) a year later, and completed six marathons from 1998-2008. The sport of Triathlon peaked his interest as a spectator at Ironman Wisconsin in 2005. In 2006 he completed his first IronMan (Wisconsin) finishing 12th in his age group.  In 2007 he secured a lottery spot at Kona and completed that race.

Long before triathlon and cycling came along, qualifying and running the Boston Marathon was a lifetime goal for Andy, and in 2009 he finished with a time of 2:58:51.

He attributes his success and accomplishments to great coaching (thank you Lindsay & Adam!!!!) and his completely supportive family (wife - Jill / kids - Nick & Brooke).

Most of all Andy enjoys the “athletic lifestyle”.  He enjoys being identified as that “IronMan Dad.” Like most successful athletes Andy truly enjoys the workouts, and the pure satisfaction of staying fit.
